Current Faves

Over the summer, I found myself gravitating to the YSL section in Sephora quite a bit. At first it was all about the packaging. Those sleek little gold boxes kept catching my eye every time. But when my purchases started becoming staples in my makeup bag, I knew I was hooked. Below are my current warm weather beauty favorites that will probably carry over into the Fall.

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick – Le Nu

I like my makeup subtle when it comes to everyday wear, and I’d been looking for the perfect nude lipstick for a while. Not only do I love this nude shade, I love the texture – it goes on so smooth. My lips get super dry within an hour of putting on lipstick, but they stay nice and moisturized with this one.  I do need to reapply throughout the day, but for the most part it stays on for a decent length of time.  Love it!

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupt̩ Shine Oil-In-Stick Lipstick РOrange Perfecto

I love love this color! I’m a sucker for orange lipsticks even in the cooler months. An orange lip just pops – if you can find the right shade. And as the name suggests – it’s the perfect orange, with just the perfect amount of shine. Even though it’s a little on the sheer side, it still pops, and I love the creamy texture. It almost feels like your lips are being conditioned. My favorite thing about this lipstick is still the tube though…it’s gorgeous!

Yves Saint Laurent Vinyl Couture Mascara – Blue (I Am Trouble)

I have been dying to try blue mascara, and let me tell you guys, YSL’s ‘I am Trouble’ has not disappointed. I’m a Cover Girl and Maybelline girl when it comes to mascara, but I have been so impressed with this brand that I may have to switch things up a bit. First off, the blue shade is so subtle yet noticeable, it gives my lashes such a beautiful soft tint. It doesn’t clump, and I don’t have raccoon eyes at the end of the day. This is so important to me, because I have oily skin, and that is my biggest beef with mascara and eyeliner.

Sapphire BeautyBlender

If you’ve read my previous post on current beauty faves, then you know I love my beautyblender. I don’t remember how I applied foundation before I found this fabulous little sponge. It is the perfect tool for dewy skin, and that’s always the look I’m going for. The beautyblender is a constant staple in my cosmetic bag, but this summer I decided to go with the sapphire which feels even softer than the original, and still does the best job. I’m forever a fan.
